Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Ellis is a licensed psychologist with experience in a variety of therapeutic settings, including inpatient, outpatient and private practice. She has been working in private practice since 2011 with a focus on counseling clients suffering from addiction, depression, anxiety and mood disorders. She also has expertise in couples therapy.
Dr. Ellis is a trained yoga teacher and practitioner who started her career as a NYC public school teacher before pursuing a career in psychology.
Dr. Ellis’s therapeutic approach can be best described as: Collaborative, supportive, and change-based. She believes that you have the solutions to your current struggles, but you’re “too close” to see them clearly. Her role is to help you clear the path.
Working with Dr. Ellis, clients should expect to learn new ways of understanding themselves and interacting with the important people in their lives. Clients will find their voices, and use them in new and effective ways.
Dr. Ellis believes that the key to a good therapist / client relationship is to find a therapist you feel comfortable being honest and vulnerable with. You should feel confident and hopeful about his or her ability to help you.
